Meet Culain (pronounced Coo-lain)!
This good looking 68lbs Weimaraner is ready to meet you! Culain is 3
years old, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on his
vaccines. He has been very loved and well cared for since he moved in
with his owner at age 8 weeks. Unfortunately, his owner, his person, his
best friend ever is not able to keep him due to an unfriendly medical
condition that gets in the way of normal activities, including goofing
around with your best buddy. As hard as it is to imagine life without
Culain, his owner wants him to have a good life in an active home with a
person or people who he can protect with his big bark (which turns into
a smile and non-stop tail wagging when he is told the visitor is a
friend).
Culain currently lives on many acres with his retired owner and spends a
lot of time chasing squirrels and birds in an attempt to catch them.
Alas, this boy is not a match for a home with furry pets such as
chickens, cats or small dogs. He is on medication for “doggy ADD”, not
to calm him down, but to relieve him of his fixation on things such as
the critters he feels he must keep his eyes on 24/7. The medication
costs about $30 a month. But this silly wanna-be hunting dog likes
rabbits and does not chase nor try to catch them! Not that we’re
suggesting he live with rabbits, but to provide an example of his more
sentimental side - haha!
This athletic, curious boy is also very loving and wants to be a part of
someone’s life. He loves to get up close and will lay his head on your
shoulder when you are not feeling well. He has a nice life with his one
and only on all the expansive property, but his owner would like for
him to get out and get more socialized with people and dogs. He is a
nice dog and is subservient to people and dogs, but he has not had a lot
of experience with either.
Culain is house trained and crate trained and happily sleeps in his
through the night and while riding in the car. He has never been around
children and would no doubt love them as he does adults, but he can get
overly excited at times and will jump up or get into serious wiggling
and would knock a little one over.
Culain will need to learn proper leash manners as he is only familiar
with exercising on the property with a lead line (20-foot leash). He has
a few things to learn but is a very loving, smart and enthusiastic dog
who happens to be treat motivated, so he’s ready to learn!
If you are interested in adopting Culain, please submit an adoption
application, or if we have your application on file, send us an email to
let us know you are interested.
