What my friends at OHS say about me:
- I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things.
- Click here to sign-up for our Start over Rover class! We will help you set you on the right path to have the best life possible with your new furry friend through training, games, and exercises!
- Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people, food, toys and/or bedding from other animals or people.

Yakima, WA is a long drive from Portland, but the Yakima Humane Society seems like a decent animal shelter that could use a boost for attention. They spay/neuter all their adoption pets and try to do adequate adoption screening (which is more than can be currently said of Mult County animal shelter!)

Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?
That's
where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by
having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win
for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.
Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet?
Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/
Our
adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations
and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets
over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration.
Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the
community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.
If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.
