"KIRA" lovely 3 yr old MALAMUTE - FOSTER or ADOPT NEEDED "STUMPTOWN STRAYS"

STUMPTOWN STRAYS FB site plus videos

Stumptown Strays

Foster or Foster-to-Adopt needed for Kira, a 3 year old Malamute.

She was adopted out from us 2 years ago and her family can no longer keep Kira or foster her until she finds a new adopter, so we’re looking for a new place for this girl.
Stumptown Strays has not evaluated Kira for the last 2 years and can not speak to her current behavior, but here is what her family has to say:

“Kira is truly a stunning, loving dog. She’s not destructive and is potty trained, making it easy to leave her in the house alone. Although Kira can get a bit excited on walks, setting gentle boundaries helps her keep her energy in check and she’s very food motivated and easy to train!
Kira is fiercely protective of her humans, which is part of her charm. She has a strong personality and tends to be a bit selective with her furry friends, especially with female dogs. She chases small dogs and cats and should not live with them.

At home, Kira is a wonderful companion. She thrives in cozy spaces and loves to create her own little den. You might find her hiding under your bed for her own special place to relax. While she’s not a big cuddler, she absolutely adores gentle pets and scratches.
Kira has such a delightful personality, often expressing herself through adorable howls and cooing sounds that are reminiscent of a little owl. You can’t help but smile when you hear her!

One of Kira’s favorite activities? Splashing around in the water! She’s a water-loving girl who thrives at the beach, happily wading and fetching sticks. However, she does have a thick coat, which means bath time can get a bit messy, so be prepared with plenty of towels and laughter! Keeping her cool, especially during warmer months, is essential, and water playtime is a perfect solution.
Though my circumstances have changed, I believe Kira deserves a loving home where she can thrive and be herself.”

If you’re able to foster Kira or interested in a foster to adopt situation, please apply on our website.

"TWO TOE TONY" easy walker, gentle soul, CATALOULA mix, "YAKIMA Humane SOCIETY"

Yakima Humane Society   info

Dogs on their website   https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/dogs/

Yakima, WA is a long drive from Portland, but the Yakima Humane Society seems like a decent animal shelter that could use a boost for attention.   They spay/neuter all their adoption pets and try to do adequate adoption screening (which is more than can be currently said of Mult County animal shelter!)

TWO TOE TONY intake 3/3/25  Adoption fee $175

Animal ID 57951633  male, 3yrs, 1 mth 25days  60 lbs

"Listed as" Catahoula Leopard Dog mix",  Yakima Humane Society FB

"Two Toe Tony is a sweet, easy-going three years old Catahoula mix just waiting for someone to take him home.
He enjoys leisurely walks in the park with many stops to roll in the grass. Tony has a gentle soul who is looking for someone that compliments his sweet demeanor. He is very good motivated and doesn’t have the most gentle mouth when he gets excited and snatches the food so we don’t recommend a home with young kids that carry around snacks. Besides that Tony has actually done well with kids and once trained could be perfect with them. We love this boy and know you will too! Check him out on our website to learn more and apply to adopt him today. You can also come down during business hours and meet him in person."

======================================
This pet is available for adoption on 3/6/2025 at 3:32 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?
That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.

Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet?
Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/

Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.

If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.

Bear has been in foster from the time he was a little pup (due to legal hold) He is well loved and socialized.  The hope is that an equally deserving party will adopt him!

Bear is eager to find a family that appreciates the work and patience involved in raising an adolescent pup. With his playful spirit, Bear is always ready for adventure! He enjoys playing with other dogs and going on long walks, making a securely fenced yard a perfect fit for him to expend some of his abundant energy. Bear is still young and inquisitive, so supervision during playtime is important. Bear has shown great promise in training, learning quickly thanks to his food motivation. He is nearly house-trained, with only occasional accidents, and is proficient in the command "leave it." During a recent outing, his recall was fantastic-he returned for treats with no issues, although he did show a strong prey drive towards birds. He was dog neutral both on and off-leash, but might be too much for small animals or cats. Bear would do well in a home with older children, as his excitement can sometimes be overwhelming-though it's all in good fun! He's a loving companion who enjoys snuggling after a day of play. With his charming personality, Bear is sure to bring joy and laughter into your home. It will be tough to say goodbye, but we know his perfect forever family is waiting just for him!
