Meet Shelton! Shelton is an intelligent and playful Border Collie looking for a loving forever home. He thrives on human interactions and is GREAT with all people, regardless of age or gender. He approaches humans with enthusiasm, often giving a gentle nose boop, though he prefers side visits over frontal greetings. He's a quick learner and understands the boundaries of personal space, showing an admirable mix of friendliness and independence. Shelton is steadily realizing that leashing means exciting adventures! He's becoming less skittish about being leashed and is now ready for fun walks, car rides, and visits to the dog park. When out and about, Shelton walks wonderfully on a leash and is a star at the dog park, displaying no reactivity to his surroundings-just redirect him with a word, and he's back to being your eager companion. Other Pets: Shelton absolutely loves having a dog buddy to play with! His current play style involves mild wrestling and body-checking, always in an appropriate manner. He enjoys engaging with others and often initiates playtime by lying down to invite his dog friend. Shelton is probably looking for a dog who loves to chase, as he shows great enthusiasm for running around. While he enjoyed the company of a visiting cat from a respectful distance, his nature means that he can easily be redirected. A confident cat would likely be a better match for him than a timid one. A True Border Collie: As is true with many Border Collies, Shelton is very smart! In just one week, he learned to go to his crate on command. However, he does have a tendency for mischief when bored, so providing him enrichment while in the crate is essential. Shelton is currently learning commands like "sit" and "halt/wait," and enjoys playing with his ball-a game of fetch is still in the works, as he tends to prefer playing solo for now. If you're looking for a playful, intelligent companion who can add joy and fun to your life while being a quick learner, Shelton is ready to meet you!
