Hi, I'm (Ritz, but my foster parent calls me )Blue! Blue is an approximately 11-month old lab mix, so named for his strikingly beautiful blue eyes. He is currently in foster and doing very well - he is potty trained and he sits to command almost 80% of the time (working on that). His leash manners are improving - he does walk better with his harness on (he's working on that as well). He still has some puppy exuberance, as well as the typical sunny disposition of a lab. Blue is bright, inquisitive, playful, and affectionate. He especially loves soft plushies and tennis balls. He is initially a little shy, but quickly warms up and trusts his human companions. Blue is somewhat treat-motivated, especially with cheese. He is sometimes slow to start eating; he did not eat at all at his foster's for over 24 hours, but is now eating kibble, sometimes with a bit of parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. Blue exhibits NO resource guarding. Blue is doing very well with the other dog at his foster home, who is a large, older, calm, and gentle dog. Blue meets other dogs on his walks and has shown no reactivity. It is unknown how Blue would do if he lived with a reactive dog, or with another young dog. Blue is adjusting to condo life, and happily hangs out, but he would do well with an active family and a yard to play in with his favorite humans. He really likes being around people, especially people who engage with him and who care about him. If you are looking for a bright, active, affectionate young dog, Blue is your boy!
