IN FOSTER HOME

"Playful, sensitive young pup seeks patient human(s) with a sense of humor to share laughs and mutual reassurance." Hi there! Would you like a funny, elegant-looking companion to jump up on your lap and steal your heart? I have only been with my foster family for one week - but they are already charmed by me! I may seem shy or scared at first. (The shelter is a loud, busy place for a sensitive little guy like me, and I hid under my bed for 8 whole days!) But once I am in a quiet place and know you just a little better, I love to jump and play with my miniature tennis ball. I might even try some "parkour" moves by jumping up on chairs and other furniture. But I am quickly learning what "off" means, and I will make you laugh with my happy antics! I am smart, attentive, and curious. If you look in a cupboard, I want to look in with you! I am very responsive to tone of voice, and will learn for praise or play rewards when I am not too stressed. I am young, so I need to get my "zoomies" out a couple times a day. (I might even try to grab a pant leg instead of the ball when excited, until I learn better.) But after that, I am happy to hang out while you work or watch a movie. (I would rather be in your lap - but I will use a dog bed near your feet, too.) I am already learning to "ask" for things by sitting. I love car rides, and jump right in - but I may need help learning not to sit in the driver's lap! I like to potty outside, and I will cry and get restless to let you know I am ready - but at first that may blend in with my general excitement. So please start with a regular potty break schedule (morning, lunch, evening, bedtime) until we learn how to communicate clearly, and I know where you want me to "go". (I was accident-free in my foster home after just 2 days, and sleeping all night on my own bed after just 5 days!) I like to know where my "safe space" is, and to keep my trusted humans in sight! I admit that right now I cry loudly if I am left alone, and I bark at strange people and dogs when I am outside. My perfect person will have a sense of humor and patience with how talkative I am! From funny roo-roo greetings to warbles, squeaks and barks, I have a wide repertoire! Are you the special person who can teach me to feel safe, and trust that you will always return for me? I promise to give you a lifetime of love, laughs and loyalty in return!
