animal # 598302

Hi there! My name is Sheila and I am looking for a new home. My favorite hobby is exploring! I’m a curious, smart dog and I love to learn new things about the world around me. I would love to have a job to do or learn some new tricks to give my mind something to work on. You know us Beagles and our noses. I don’t shy away from novel situations and if you can keep me mentally and physically stimulated, I’ll be your loving friend forever. I do have a Beagle bark and would not be best suited for apartment life. If you would like to meet me, please come on down to the shelter today! I am about 5 years old and weigh 27 pounds.

"PHYLLIS DILLER" funny crested CHICKEN

ADOPTED!
July 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

Mcas weblink
animal # 599640

Phyllis Diller here!!!
I'm a Polish breed an we are a very special and unique breed of chicken with our huge bouffant crest of feathers and v-shaped comb. We can be tame but our behavior can be a bit wacky since these fabulous crest limits our vision. Side note:
When in a flock with more aggressive breeds, Polish will tend to be on the low end of the pecking order. Egg laying is varied in this breed - some lay well and some very poorly. In short, Polish are sweet, beautiful exhibition birds and can be good layers in the backyard flock, but they're not reliable.

Adoption fee is $15

Mcas weblink  (adoption pending 7/10 )
animal # 599560
Astra here! I'm a superstar of a Husky mix lady on the search for my new home. I am very energetic and love to run around so I would need a home capable of keeping up with my need for exercise! I'm a silly and loving girl who will provide you with endless entertainment and fun if you take me home. You'll need to be sure to have a secured yard and home as I seem to have a potential for escape artistry! I've met same-sized dogs here at the shelter and I have a rough play style so if you have another dog at home we would need to meet first to make sure we are a match. Come meet me today! I'm about 1 year old

"ALABAMA" very timid lovable young charcoal/white Pitbull

ADOPTED!
July 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

Alabama  Mcas weblink
animal # 596335

Alabama here! I'm a sweet pitbull mix lady looking for a new home. I am very frightened here at the shelter and if you really want to see what I'm like - please ask to meet me outside the kennels! I'm very sweet and energetic. I've met other same-sized dogs here and I've done well - though I have a more rough 'n tumble playstyle so I would need to meet any other dogs you have before going home to make sure we're a match. I can be very jumpy and physical when I'm excited so I may not be the best match for very small children. I'm about9 months old and weigh 44 lbs.

I'll need someone with extra patience to help me succeed!
Hope next week we can show you happier pics :)

"CASANOVA" sweet talented Chihuahua

 ADOPTED!
July 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

Mcas weblink
animal # 596358

Hello, I'm Casanova - a smooth, sweet-talking Chihuahua fella looking for a new place to call my own! I'm friendly and love giving kisses to people. Generally I just enjoy being around people and getting lots of love and attention, though I would do best in a home where any children are 15 or up as I'm VERY food-motivated and will guard any food I can get. I don't mind seeing other dogs, but due to my resource guarding in the home so I would need to be the only dog in my household. However, I have lived with a cat for a short period and done well. Come say hi to me today and let's fall in love! I'm about 2 years old and weigh 11 lbs.

"BILBO" sensitive little Chi boy

ADOPTED!
July 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

mcas weblink  (7/6 pending adoption)
animal # 598497

My name is Bilbo and I'm a sensitive guy that's looking for a quiet, relaxed home. I was very scared when I first arrived here, but am slowly learning to trust and come out of my shell. The shelter is recommending that kids in the home be over the age of 10 years, as I can get nippy when I'm really scared. I have a condition called "cherry eye" that the shelter will fix as part of my adoption. Please ask your adoption counselor about my medical needs. I am about 3 years old and weigh 10 pounds.

"GRETCHEN" darling Doxie

ADOPTED!
July 2017
Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
Mcas weblink
animal # 598743
Gretchen here! I'm a sweet little Dachshund lady looking for a new place to call my own. I'm a bit scared here at the shelter so it takes me a little time to warm up to new people and new situations. Once I've opened up, you'll see that I'm a loving, mellow lady who wants nothing more than to be close to my favorite people. However, because of my fearfulness, any children in my new home should be 12 years or older. As you can see, I've got a little extra weight on me, and I would love it if my new home would help me slim down to a healthier weight for my size! I'm about 6 years old and weigh 23 lbs - come say hi!

Mcas weblink
animal # 598749
Hi I'm Bella! If you are looking for an energetic pitbull lady to go on adventures with - look no further! I'm very sweet and active so my ideal home would have lots of cuddles and enjoy athletic activities. I've been around other dogs before and I love to play but my play style is a bit rough and tumble so I would need to meet any other dogs you have in your home to be sure we get along. I would also love to go to some training classes to learn manners as I can be pretty jumpy and mouthy and might be too much for very small children. Ask to see me today! I'm about 1.5 years old and weigh 56 lbs.

"CHLOE" chubby freckled Border Collie

ADOPTED!
July 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

Mcas weblink
animal # 596346

Hi, I 'm Chloe a black and white Border Collie mix. I have the cutest freckles on my nose. I'm about 9 years old and weigh 60lbs, so I'm looking for a home that will help me shed a pound or two. I need to be the only dog in the household and am not a dog park candidate as I prefer the company of humans rather than other dogs. I did live peacefully with a cat and livestock, so chickens, pigs, llamas and goats have nothing to fear from me.

"MARIA" Well adjusted, mellow and peppy - NOW at Oregon Humane Society!!

ADOPTED!
July 2017
Now Available for Adoption at Oregon Humane Society!
Please visit Maria, she's a great dog!

here's Maria's OHS weblink
Hi there! I’m Maria and I’m hoping you’re the best friend for life I’ve been searching for! Add me to your life, and we can do all sorts of fun things together: go for walks, play fun games, learn new tricks, and have great times. I love to go on adventures, sniffing my way through the world one fire hydrant at a time; but even my love for adventure doesn’t compare to my passion for squeaky toys. Like me, squeaky toys are fun and carefree, full of life, and always there to cheer you up. They help me get through the long days, and I so hope I can do the same for you. If your life could use a good, reliable squeaky toy, I just might be the pal for you. I came to OHS through the Second Chance Program from Multnomah County Animal Services.

"TRANSFERRED" to a Oregon Humane Society!
June 2017

Maria was a MCAS "Pitties in Pink" super star
 in the Pride Parade!
"I had the honor of escorting Maria to the parade today. Let me tell you she is really special! She rode in the car wonderfully and even laid down when I ask her to. She really enjoyed meeting all the people (young and older) and she especially liked meeting all the dogs (big and small). She didn't come across anyone or anything she didn't like! She was very well behaved the entire time and didn't move once during the parade. She was so quiet on the way back to the shelter we almost forgot she was riding in the car with us. If I didn't already have 3 dogs, she would be coming home with me. Whoever adopts her is getting a real gem and will be extremely happy they did!" Sue, Mcas volunteer

"PRECIOUS" little terrier mix

ADOPTED!
July 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

mcas weblink
animal # 598523

My name is Precious. I am 3 years old and weigh 20 pounds. I am very shy at first before showing you just how lovely I am, so it is very important that my new home take it slow with me and allow me to acclimate in my own time. I have found it stressful here, so my transition could take some time into my new home. I would like a home that is quiet and will show me lots of love. The shelter is recommending that any potential kids in the home be 8 years old and up. Please come down to the shelter to see me today!
