Laid-back lover Don't miss out on this perfect boy! Our sweet Solomon, aka “Sully” has been through so much before he landed under our wings with BAPBR. Sully was dumped at Kelley Point Park, no food, no water, very scared, and very cold. Good Samaritans tried for weeks to help him, he was too afraid to get into cars. He would follow people with kids, and dogs, but when it was time to get into the car, he would become afraid. Sully is now famous, read his article on Life with Dogs, that received over 1,400 shares on Facebook! Animal Control caught Solomon and for 3 weeks he struggled in the shelter kennels. Stressed, sick, and inconsolable, Multnomah County Animal Services found a foster home for Sully where, to all of our surprise, this amazing dog who had endured so much, turned out to be a gem in the rough. Incredible house manners, lovely with other dogs, lovely with kids, and is a real sweetheart cuddle bug.
Besides gentle daily walks, Sully loves snuggling under the covers and relaxing in calm, quiet surroundings. He likes to stay busy with raw beef bones, puzzle toys, and training games. Sully loves kids, but prefers calm children age 10 and up. Really, he would love to be with his people all the time. He is very sweet and affectionate and would make an amazing companion for someone that works from home or is retired. Looking for a perfect gentleman to join your home? Well, you've found him! Sully is 9 years old, and has light arthritis that is managed with supplements and daily medication. He does get nervous when strangers enter his home, but quickly calms down when reinforced for not barking. Sully responds supremely to reward based training games and he loves to learn. Sully does like to snuggle on furniture, so a home that doesn't mind sharing with their canine companions would be ideal. He is a gentleman though, and only jumps up on the couch when invited. Sully deserves a forever home that utilizes reward-based training and can provide supreme health care and a healthy diet for him. Sully is looking for a true life partner who will enjoy spending lots of time with him. In return, Sully can offer unconditional love for the rest of his life.
