Romeo was Adopted!

  1. Romeo is indeed a sweetheart! I have spent time with him as a volunteer and if you give him a treat or talk nicely to him, he will look at you lovingly with his beautiful brown eyes! If I could have a dog in my apartment, he would definately be at the top of my list! Don't miss out on the wonderful animal!

  2. I was a visitor to the shelter and Romeo seemed like a sweet wiggle-butt boy.

  3. Did he get a new home?

  4. Hello Lisa and Theresa,

Both my husband and I are Claymore's "Romeo" humans! We are the ones that adopted him into his forever home. He is such a lover boy. If he could be in between one's subcutaneous fat layer and organs he would jump right in! I clearly remember the day when I stumbled upon one of the above pictures on Multnomah County Animal Shelter (MCAS) website. I immediately printed off and took it home to show my husband. Less than 2 weeks later we adopted him and the rest is history! He loves daily walks, chuck it, cuddling; being spooned in particular, taste testing what we cook in the kitchen, snuggling up with a pillow and blanket, Nyla bones, kongs, and laying in the sun; wherever we may be in the home or out and about. For 7.5 years he shared us with his older MCAS sibling Lily Bean. Two weeks ago she went to the Rainbow Bridge after a short battle with metastatic mast cell cancer.

Theresa, what a niche you have created in your work with photographing shelter dogs. We are forever grateful for your heart, skill, and passion.

    All our best!
    Angela

  5. I'm so glad that the photos brought you to the MCAS shelter to adopt your dogs! Back in 2010 Patrick used his Mcas shelter dog portraits and started the Shelter Dogs of Portland Photoblog, hoping to help the pitbulls to find good homes. Lisa W then took over the photoblog for a year or so and she also created the Shelter Dogs of Portland Facebook (yay!) which Sarah R then Danni D took over with great results. (a little history)
Anyway, I'm so glad to hear that Romeo is still doing well, and sorry to hear about Lily Bean. If she was a brindle and white gorgeous Pitmix, I may still have some old photos of her (unlikely, but possible)
Take care, it's so great that you you show your
support for these dogs by giving a good loving home.
