"We are posting today with a very special foster (or adopter) request.
This is Trigger. He's a 17 year old Labrador Retriever. He is happy and sweet. He loves people, and he loves other dogs. He's really a wonderful dog.
Trigger was a therapy dog in his first home for 10 years. Somehow after that he ended up with a person who made him live in a shed outside with no attention. Over the past 7 years he has lost weight from 85 lbs to less than 50 lbs.
Luckily, a nice couple saw what was happening to Trigger and told the woman if she didn't give him up to them, they were going to report her to the authorities. The woman promptly gave him up.
Since then, he has been getting vet care and he has slowly gained a bit over 4 pounds. He is going for long walks every day, and even going on pack walks with other dogs, where he likes to be the leader of the pack 
.

The
people who rescued Trigger are not able to keep him. Their home is
being torn down and rebuilt, and they will be living in a small
apartment that is not conducive to his needs.
