Meet Linus, a handsome 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a heart of gold! This intelligent and treat-motivated boy is a joy to train and will thrive in a low-traffic home with active adults, as he can become anxious around children and too much "busy-ness". He would do best in a single family home (no apartments/communal settings) with a fenced in yard! Linus is ready to learn new tricks and explore the world with his future best friend(s). He can be choosy about his dog pals. If you're looking for a smart and adventurous companion, Linus is the perfect match for you

"RUTH" *Tiny* playful young CHIHUAHUA mix "STUMPTOWN STRAYS"

UPDATE 10/5/25 ADOPTED or on hold

Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.

"RUTH " is Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

spayed female Breed: Chihuahua Mix  10 months 7 lbs

adoption fee $400    Ok with  Kids, Dogs, Cats,   Housetrained

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Funny, Loves, Playful

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Funny, Loves, Playful

Ruth, our 7 pound 10 month old chihuahua mix, came to us with a fractured front leg. We aren't sure how she broke it. However, considering Ruth is basically made of twigs, we wouldn't be surprised if her leg broke because the wind knocked her over. Thanks to the @1510Foundation for covering Ruth's care in its entirety, we were able to have her leg surgically repaired. Now healed, she's ready for a home (and maybe a full body suit made of bubble wrap).

Ruth is has been a dream patient and house guest. She is crate and potty trained, quiet, and very friendly. We can't overestimate the friendly part. Ruth loves everyone (and everyone loves her back). She's befriended dogs (both large and small), kids (also large and small), and cats.

Ruth is cuddle-focused but loves toys and walks. She's still a puppy and has minor puppy mouthiness. She also has the attention span of a goldfish. For this reason, Ruth's adoptive home should be prepared to keep her entertained with plenty of exercise and puzzle games. We wouldn't call Ruth the sharpest tool in the shed (she's forever confused by the concept of "sit"), but she likes learning new things and should have ongoing puppy training.

We do think Ruth would fit in well in most homes. However, she is always trying to break her remaining legs. She puts herself in the middle of all the action and throws herself under people's feet. If it were up to Ruth, she'd try to launch herself off of the top of the refrigerator. For that reason, kids in the home should be very self-aware and careful.

Ruth is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.

Think you can keep our fragile daredevil safe? Is your home decorated in mostly cushions with no sharp corners (kidding)?

"MASHA"  Available for Adoption at the HUMANE SOCIETY OF SW WASHINGTON in Vancouver

dogs available HS SW Washington (both Vancouver and Longview)

MASHA  #168750 spayed female, 3 yrs 9mth 53 lbs, Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home.

"looks like"  American Pit Bull Terrier

My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them:

Potty trained? ✔️

Crate trained? ✔️

Basic commands? ✔️

Goofy? ✔️ ✔️

Masha is a wonderful pup with a huge heart that will make any family happy. She's sweet and playful, always looking for some fun. She is motivated to please her people, and has a great base to continue to learn and grow! Walks well on a leash, and while interested in other animals out and about, she is easily redirected. Give this lady a chance - you will not be disappointed!

It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.

I need a home without cats. We just don't get along - even if they don't mind me, I can't be in the same home with them.

Adopt INFO

'Look through our adoptable dogs to find the perfect match for you and your family. We assign each dog a breed and do our best to describe the dog's personality. Please read each dog's profile closely before applying or coming in. Meets with dogs are set up only when an approved application is on file and the adopter meets the basic suitability requirements for a particular dog. We actively seek rescue placement for our dogs who have medical needs, training needs, or for dogs who just haven't found their forever home through us. Dogs who are noted to be "Committed to Rescue" are not currently viewable for adoption, and they may have a home already through their rescue placement. You are welcome to fill out an online application for us to pre-approve and keep on file. Then, when your dream dog comes in, the adoption process will be much quicker"

"Our dogs all go home with their spay/neuter completed, microchipped, rabies vaccinated, DHPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, are heart worm tested, one month flea/tick preventative applied, and with a 1 year license included.  "PIPER" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106116  Breed: Miniature Pinscher/Mix spayed female 2 yrs 62 lb

Description: Piper is a young lady at around 2 years of age, but she prefers to stop and smell the roses. Don't get her wrong, she enjoys playing and excitement too, but is a lower-key lady than the average 2 year old usually. At about 62lbs, Piper could use a little help losing a few pounds. She isn't REALLY overweight, but a couple pounds of weighloss will really help her to remain healthy and happy. She is a bit of a foodie, and enjoys the finder things in life - primarily, a diet free of poultry to help keep her skin and hair coat healthy. With a good lamb or fish based diet and flea preventative, her skin will continue to heal and she can remain itch-free! Piper loves people, and would love a family that will show her love and help her to learn. Piper would make a great addition to a home that has experience with larger dogs and is ready to show this lady the easy life!

1) Piper may do best in a home that has experience with larger dogs. She is a bit sensitive about having her ears handled and treated, and would do best in a home that is prepared to continue to work on her positive associations with medical treatment of her ears.

2) Piper has been dog selective here at the shelter, and has let staff know that she would prefer to live wtih male dogs if she is sharing her living space with another canine companion.

3) We don't know how Piper will be with cats or other small animals, so please be sure to discuss proper introductions toward any resident small animals and cats with your adoption counselor. The folks who found Piper state that she did well with their chickens and cats, but care should still be taken when introducing Piper to any resident small animals.

4) Due to her sensitive skin and handling sensitivities, Piper would do best in a home with children who are least 13 years of age or older, or in an adult-only home.
