"CAPTAIN CAVEMAN" gentle senior big shaggy boy

"Transferred" to a placement partner
Adopted!  Oct 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here my Mcas weblink
animal id #

My name is Captain Caveman. I am a sweet and gentle old man who is ready to be showered with love and affection. I have had a rough go of things lately, as you can see from my appearance, but that has not stopped me from being the loving soul I have become. I would match best with calm, reserved dogs. My new family should have a good relationship with their vet, to continue me into good health over time. I hope you have a place in your heart (and your couch!) for me. I am 9 years old and weigh 69 pounds.

"LONGFELLOW" a happy adoption update!

Happy adoption update!
Sept 21, 2016

We adopted this good ol' Goofy Boy almost 5 years ago and he has been an awesome addition to our family. Baxter 'Longfellow' loves to eat...ANYTHING! He is particularly fond of apples and tomatoes and sits under our apple tree constantly waiting for apples to fall. When not doing that he is trying to snatch cherry tomatoes through the now fenced plants. He loves to cuddle with my wife and spends lots of evening time next to her on the couch (on his blanket).
Thank you Multnomah County Animal Control for bringing Baxter into our life. We estimate he is 9 or 10 years old now and we cherish every day with him.

ADOPTED!
Dec 2011
Okay, so i have no idea where the name "Longfellow" comes from..... but the name certainly suits this spectacular dog!
He is substantially smart, cute to boot, and .... already has a great name!!!

Longfellow walks great on the leash, and seems just fine with other dogs.  He would love to live with a female canine companion and a home with children over 8 years old.

Are you "Longfellow's" answer to a second chance at life? Meet the polite and charming Longfellow at Multnomah County Animal Shelter today!!

"RAVEN" gentle and spunky senior Yellow Lab - Westside of town

ADOPTED!
Oct 12, 2016

Available for adoption at Bonnie L Hays
(aka  Washington County Animal Shelter)  (the shelter is Closed on Sunday and Holidays)

here's my shelter Petfinder.com link

Raven wants her next home to be her forever home! This gentle, loving senior deserves the best and will be a great companion. She's good on the leash and loves easy daily walks, but mostly just wants a good indoor caring home where she can be the only dog.
12 years old, 62 lbs, children 12 and up

If this dog is appropriate for a home with children, you must bring children aged 12 and under to the shelter with you for the adoption process. Not all dogs and children are a perfect match, so we want to make sure that the dog you select is a family-friendly dog.
If you have one or more existing dogs in your home, we require a "meet and greet" between your dogs and the adoptive dog at our shelter. Please plan to bring your dog(s) with you before the adoption can be finalized so we can be sure that the dogs and the humans all agree this dog will be the perfect match for your family!

Adoptions are on a first-come first-served basis among approved applicants. We cannot hold pets, so when you are ready to select a pet, please come prepared.

"SKIP" peppy little Eskimo dog

ADOPTED!
Oct 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (adoption pending 10/13)
animal id #581874

Hi there! My name is Skip because I'm a peppy little guy. I am an American Eskimo dog who enjoys playing and hopping around next to you. I can take a little time to warm up to new people and can guard my food. Because of this I would do best in a home with children over 12. I can't wait to meet you and bond over a game of fetch! I'm around 2 years old and weigh 9.5 lbs. I would need to be neutered before I go home!

 ADOPTED!
Oct 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (10/9 has an adopter)
animal id # 581693

My name is Swanson! A 5 month old Weimaraner pup with a lot of energy to burn! I have been a sweet and playful guy here at the shelter-I even know Sit-and my family should continue these positive behaviors in my new home by taking me to reward based training classes! It would be very beneficial if I went to a home with breed-specific experience, as us Weimaraners can be quite the characters! I hope to see you down here at the shelter soon. I surely can't wait!

"JET" active young German Shephard mix

ADOPTED!
Oct 2016

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my MCAS weblink
animal # 581051

The name is Jet! That's because I am faster than anyone else around! I can tell you that I LOVE to play fetch, and could play for hours with my new family. I can be a little shy and skittish, especially to loud sounds and fast movements, so my new home should take it slow with me, and always keep me on leash or in secure containment until I get more confident. I will also need a home with no other pets. I have a lot of potential to be a fun dog and I hope I can reach that with you! I am 1 year old and weigh 53 pounds. L2. No other pets.

"LOIS" sweetheart, a little bit shy Pitbull

"Transferred" to a placement partner
Oct 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (10/8 possible adopter?)
animal id # 581663

Lois to the rescue! I am just the kind of super lady to bring into your life. I have been patient and friendly with all people that I met, and love to give lots of body wags when I am happy. I enjoy as much attention as I can get! I can be a little nervous around other rowdy dogs, so any introductions should be done slow and appropriately. My shelter friends have found that I have a very slight heart murmur, but that does not seem to bother me or affect my ability to get out and have fun! Hope to meet you soon. I am 3 years old and weigh 54 pounds.

ADOPTED!
Oct 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here my Mcas weblink ( pending adoption 10/8)
animal id # 581019

Hello, my name is Petey! I am a happy guy who enjoys a lot of attention from humans! The way I see it is the more pets the better! I am hoping to find an active family who can continue the training that my previous family has started. I will do best in a home with children over 12 yrs old. I know some tricks however I can sometimes get insecure when I see dogs from a distance and bark at them. The good news is that I have lived with a female dog and we got along pretty well. Are you considering me? Please stop by to say hello! I am around 2 1/2 years old and weigh 45 pounds

Calling all new ready-parents-to-be! I am a cool little pup, but just be ready for all those puppy things-housetraining, new tricks, socialization, and much, much more! I am a crazy mix of sorts, but all I know is that I am cute and cuddly, and I am ready to begin my training to become a wonderful canine citizen. I should grow to be a medium-to-large sized dog, but at the moment I am 11 pounds and I am 3 months old

"MR T." update - Boxer/pitbull mix with the silly underbite

ADOPTED!
Oct 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 579387

Hi! My name is Mr. T. And I will definitely pity the fool who misses out on adopting me! I am a Boxer mix who is 10 years old and weighs 48 pounds. Even though I am a bit older, I still have tons of life and energy left, and could really benefit from lots of time to play fetch or go on long walks and hikes. I can be a bit shy with people at first, but once I get settled and feel safe, I am a really big goofball. Sometimes I even think I am a lap dog and will try to sit on your lap-so fair warning! We are requiring that kids in my new home be over the age of 10 years as they just move too fast for me. I was in a foster home for awhile and we learned that high traffic areas are a little too much for me. I am hoping for a quieter setting to live. My foster mom adored me and we spent many long evening cuddling on the couch. I walk fairly well on a leash and get along well with other dogs. Ask about me today please.

"SNICKERS" friendly little Lhasa mix

ADOPTED!
Oct 2016

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my MCAS weblink  (10/6 possible adopter)
animal # 581515

My name is Snickers! I am quite the little character, and my shelter friends agree! I have an outgoing personality and love to meet new people. I am very food motivated, and though I know sit, I bet I could still learn some new things given the chance. I would prefer to go to a home where I will be with my people most of the time, as I can get a bit anxious when left alone. The vet staff here have also found that I have a heart murmur, and although it does not cause me many problems now, it will be best to have a good relationship with your vet.  I am a great little companion, and will for sure give your life lots of joy! I am 6 years old and weigh 22 pounds.

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal id #484002

My name is Harley. I am 8 years 8 months old, and I weigh 67 pounds. Sometimes I can be a bit shy and reserved at first, but once I know you I can be the biggest sweetheart you have ever seen, and it will really make you love me quick! I really enjoy any type of toy you can give me, so that will be a fast way to earn my trust. I have lived mostly outside my whole life, but really would love nothing more than to be a part of a family. I am friendly with all people, and have lived with other dogs in the past. I hope you are willing to give this shy but sweet guy a chance!

"LILA" the Boxer - happy update

Lila the Boxer- Happy Adoption update!

Lila came into the shelter with major hair loss and very red inflamed skin. She was medically cared for by the shelter staff, and began to show improvement, then was made available for adoption.
Lila found a wonderful Boxer loving home very quickly!

Here's the shelter intake pic of Lila

Lila's Happy Update:
"She and us are doing great. What an amazing dog. A perfect rescue. Her skin is better with apoquel....  Enclosed is a picture for your board. The lower picture is her resting her head on the edge of the bed watching me eat a snack. Very well behaved. She is responding perfectly to her new home. Thanks again."

"STEWIE" an energetic Pug

ADOPTED!
Oct 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (10/4 possible adopter)
animal id # 581715

Stewie the Pug here! I am a wiggly and excitable little guy and I am ready for my new home. I am very food motivated, and I even do a little "dance" when waiting for a treat or my meals. I enjoy going on walks, and as a Pug it is important that my walks be shorter but frequent so I don't overheat. Plus, I could still use to lose a few pounds to keep me healthy and happy. My new family should have a good relationship with their vet, as us Pugs are always needing regular care! I would enjoy a nice warm spot on the couch with you, so I hope you are ready. I am 23 pounds and I am 6 years old!
